Boundary Waters Canoe Expedition

Our purpose for embarking on a Boundary Waters canoe passage is to use nature's transformative power to connect head and heart, and journey towards self-discovery and community connection. Through paddling and portaging, we will immerse ourselves in the wilderness, let go of distractions, and tap into a more authentic sense of self. This journey will be one of growth, resilience, and connection - with ourselves, each other, and the land. In the end, we will emerge with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of our place in the web of life.

The Boundary Waters

The Boundary Waters is a sacred and pristine wilderness area located in the northern forests of Minnesota and Ontario. Its rugged terrain, diverse wildlife, and clear, clean waters make it a revered destination. For centuries, the Ojibwe people have called this land home, passing down their traditional knowledge and wisdom. pillars of experience

The Boundary Waters Canoe Expedition is a transformational wilderness journey held together by four pillars: reverence, grace, integrity, and gratitude.

Reverance

Reverence is the soulful practice of honoring the sacredness of all life. It is the act of bowing to the mystery, beauty, and wisdom that surrounds us, and recognizing our place in the great web of creation. When we enter the wilderness with reverence, we open ourselves to the whispers of the wind, the songs of the birds, and the dance of the seasons. We become attuned to the stories and teachings of the land, and to the gifts and challenges that it offers us. We also cultivate a deep sense of humility and gratitude, recognizing that we are part of a larger, older, and wiser family of beings.

Grace

Grace is the art of flowing with the currents of life, and embracing the beauty and challenges of the present moment. It is the practice of letting go of our fears, judgments, and expectations, and trusting the wisdom and guidance of the universe. When we enter the wilderness with grace, we become more open to the surprises, joys, and lessons that the land and its inhabitants offer us. We also become more attuned to our own inner voice and rhythm, and to the pulse and patterns of the land. We learn to dance with the cycles of birth, death, and rebirth, and to embrace the fullness and richness of life.

Integrity

Integrity is the practice of aligning our inner values and intentions with our outer actions and relationships. It is the art of living in harmony with our deepest dreams, aspirations, and ethics, and of standing in integrity even in the face of adversity or temptation. When we enter the wilderness with integrity, we become more conscious and responsible stewards of the land and its inhabitants. We also become more authentic and compassionate beings, recognizing the interdependence and interconnectedness of all things. We learn to honor our own truth, and to honor the truth of the land and its stories.

Gratitude

Gratitude is the medicine of the heart, the art of recognizing and celebrating the blessings, beauty, and wonder that surrounds us. It is the practice of opening our hearts to the gifts and teachings of the land and its inhabitants, and of acknowledging our place in the great family of life. When we enter the wilderness with gratitude, we become more joyful, peaceful, and harmonious beings. We also become more aware of the interconnectedness and interdependence of all things, and of the sacredness of every creature, plant, and element. We learn to honor the land and its inhabitants, and to cultivate a deep sense of reverence and care.
